Bigger cities generate more innovations because they allow more interaction between people that are socially diverse and distant to each other. Closed societies which have the same beliefs and norms tend to lag behind in development because they do certain things the same way and it becomes difficult to change their behavior. People become comfortable with each other and don’t think outside the box. What differentiates cities from villages is that in villages, people closely associate with each other because they are related or have some connection. The more people invest in a city, the more the city becomes resilient. The Big Question now is — Is Kampala attracting the big Investors that will make the city more resilient?
